Being mixed-raced myself, I have encountered numerous individuals commenting on my race: I am black and that is it -- nothing more. This, to me, is an insult as it is not true. I prefer seeing my heritage for what it is and not purely focusing simply on one portion of it. I am now in my thirties and I wish to observe, one day, the many aspects my family's entirety has to offer.
